Isildur1 is back at the high stakes games at Full Tilt Poker taking on jungleman12 for a rematch. Some say Isildur1 is the best in the world and others say jungleman12 is the best NLHE player in the world. Here is some of the high stakes action:
Full Tilt Poker Academy dean Phil Gordon interviews Patrik Antonius in a 2 part video. In the video, Patrik gives great expert insight into the mind of both himself and Isildur1. He believes that Isildur1 is an anomaly, and very talented, but suffers from tilt. He believes that Isildur1 could build a roll of 1k into a million if he practiced good bankroll management and avoided tilt. Patrik reveals how isildur1 constantly put him to the test by making him make big decisions for over 100k while they were playing on 4 screens at once. Lets see if Patrik’s opinion about Viktor Blom aka Isildur1’s ability to build bankrolls is right, because as of yesterday Isildur1’s roll is less than 100k.

Viktor Blom started playing online poker under the screen name Blom90 on the iPoker network. He first appeared, at 18 years of age, in late 2008. The young Swede came out of nowhere and surged the online poker world playing against everyone in as many tables as possible.
Shortly thereafter he allegedly deposited $2K and turned it into over $1.4 million in just a few weeks time. During these few weeks he quickly became an online poker legend as he crushed the headsup tables. He started moving up with very aggressive bankroll management and, in no time at all, was sitting was sitting in the biggest headsup tables which at the time were $100/$200 no limit holdem, with opponents including Odonkooor and Flexaccou. One of the most impressive, well known things about Blom90 is he’s been known to play up to 8 headsup tables at once! At first, Blom90 tried to keep his identity private, creating mystery and drama throughout the online poker world. However, as we all know, eventually his identity was revealed. Needless to say, his major run ended but he continued to fare well in the poker world. In addition to his online success, he was also nominated as Rookie of the Year in the 2008 Scandinavian Poker Awards.
After all the hype died down, it seemed Blom90 decided to lay low for a while, or did he??? Perhaps he loves the spotlight because the buzz is back. There is now another new, young, mysterious Swede in “online poker town” and his name is Isildur1. It’s been confirmed that Isildur1 is none other than the infamous, Viktor Blom. Isildur1 made his online debut in October 2009 on the Full Tilt Poker tables where he entered the realm of the nosebleed stakes. It’s been reported that as of November 20, 2009 Isildur1 has won $4,262,458 in the month of November. He is fearless, playing the top pros one by one or everyone at the same time. Durrr just can’t seem to get a break. From early on, Isildur began to deplete Durrr’s bankroll and has since become his arch-nemesis. Earlier today, the duo played for over an hour on six tables of PLO. Isildur busted Durrr on every table taking $800K of Durrr’s money with him in the end. Other pros, Antonius and Ivey have fared much better against the newbie. Just a few moments ago, Isildur lost the biggest online pot ever, over $1.3M, to Patrik Antonius. Viktor’s not one to give up easily, though. One thing is certain, this guy is no joke. He’s got some serious talent and perhaps a little luck (or is it some serious luck and perhaps a little talent?) in his favor. He’ll probably be signed by a major poker room in the near future and he’s well on his way to becoming one of the greatest online players of all time. Perhaps, someday, we’ll get the opportunity to see Blom play live against his top opponents which would probably end up being one of the best games ever!
“ilsidur1” The New Kid On The Block
With the advent of more and more online poker players; new internet phonemes continue to appear; coming from humble beginnings and skyrocketing to the big leagues; crushing the biggest games in town. From Brain Townsend to Patrick Antonious to Tom Dwan; they all laid claim to being the number one online poker superstar. Now, the newest young-gun seems to be the man named ilsidur1.

“Ilsidur1” has been taking the online poker world by storm in recent times. In early November he played 10, 000 hands and was able to win over $500,000 from the likes of Brian ‘Stinger’ Hastings and Cole ‘CTS’ South. But the enigma of ilsidur1 came when he went on a rampage against none other than the latest online superstar Tom “Durrrr” Dwan. They have been battling it out at the heads-up No Limit Holdem tables on Full Tilt Poker, at stakes ranging from $100/200 to $500/1,000. With the high stakes and their super aggressive styles there was bound to be some massive swings. In a recent session ilsidur1 was down a staggering $1.7 million to Dwan but with cunning play and a little luck he was able to break even and eventually booked a win for over $850, 000. At one point his winnings against Dwan were reportedly above the $2.5 million mark.
Dwan is not taking his battle for the thrown too lightly either. He has already challenged ilsidur1 to play against him in the Full Tilt Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge, which will see other pros Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies and Sammy “any two” George battle Tom Dwan with a $500,000 buy in and $500/$1000 blinds. “We have had some tough games over the last few days and the action just keeps on coming,” Dwan commented about his encounter with ilsidur1. “I hope he can make it to London for the challenge so we can play some high stakes live games as well.” Whether durrrr is simply looking for a profitable game of poker or is out for some revenge against this mutineer remains to be seen but one thing is for sure; the heads up battles between these two titans is only just beginning.
Much like the mystery player “Martonas” the poker forums and online community have been electrified with the dawn of the “Dwan-killer”. Their battles may even gain more fanfare then the WSOP Main Event Final Table! The speculation of who “ilsidur1” is has seen the high stakes railbirds take out their magnifying glasses to try and unmask the unknown player. Akin to Martonas, ilsidur1 is guilty of one thing; being an action junky; never wanting to play less than six tables; playing only at the highest stakes available; against only the best players in the world. Because of these similarities some are speculating that this mystery man is none other than the other mystery man Martonas. This rumor seems unlikely since it has been reported that although ilsidur1 and Martonas are not the same person they are in fact good friend; both from the same town in Sweden.
The rumor mill has also thrown up retired Swedish football star Henrik Larsson as a possible suspect. British player Sammy George could also be a contender; reportedly talking to Neil Channing about “cleaning up” Durrrr; taking millions from him online. Could also be Viktor Blom another high-stakes regular from Sweden.
Jonas Danielsson, a feared online pro by the screen name “Nebuchad” has also been suspected but he denies these rumors. Danielsson does have a few words to say about the skills of Mr. X; “On a scale from 0-100, Isildur1 is 100, Tom Dwan is 90 and the rest are below 50… After a few more days of railing I can say that he is a great player, and he will be one of the best ones, or even the best player ever”.
Only time will tell if ilsidur1 is just another good player who has been sleeping with the poker gods, or if he is a new poker legend laying wait to rule them all.

Rumors are abound on the identity of Isildur1 who plays on Full Tilt Poker. A user on two plus two even posted to day that is is Todd Brunson. Others are speculating that it is Viktor Blom and still others say it is Robert Flink from Sweden. Isildur1 is from Sweden, but I cannot verify at this time who the poker pro is.
